June 2008

Happy Fathers Day!! We had a busy weekend getting stuff done around the house on Saturday and traveling to see both families on Sunday. Whew, the weekend goes way too fast! Drew is lucky to have such a great daddy and we love him very much!!

Drew had his daycare field trip last Thursday to the Amaze'n Farm. We had a full bus ride with kids and parents, which surprising went very well. Drew was excited to get on the bus then started crying when we got on. Two miles into the trip he fell asleep. He also fell asleep on the way home as did most of the kids. He liked the giant slide the best and was not fond of the animals freely walking around. We talked Kelly into taking the day off and going with us on the trip. I am very greatful she did because Drew has been high maintence this week,he caught hand, foot and mouth disease. I didn’t really know what this entailed until he had it. The poor kid has sores in his mouth, on his hands and his feet that look like little blisters. Grandma Lieser stayed home with Drew on Wednesday, the field trip was Thursday and I got a call from daycare on Friday that he was having a rough day so I left early from work to pick him up. Apparently, this is a very contagious virus and makes kids miserable. Drew won’t eat or drink unless we force him and he is sooo crabby! He also has a rash on his legs from this that could last up to two weeks.

Rick is working on finishing up the stain for the deck. I think it is taking him longer than he anticipated. We did find out however, that if we need rain he just needs to stain part of the deck. Every time he works on it, it rains. Yesterday it happened again. As he was finishing up, a thunderstorm warning was flashing on the TV. Then it turned into a tornado warning and the sirens went off. Yikes…we grabbed Drew out of his crib and headed for the basement. We were curious though and looked outside first. There was a crazy looking cloud that was in the shape of a cone but high in the sky. Needless to say, scary enough that we headed downstairs.

Drew spent last weekend at Jana, Eric and Taylors house. Friday night we watched Taylor so that they could go to Erics dads surprise b-day party. It was in St. Cloud so it worked out well, they crashed at our house after. The kiddos were early risers that morning, 4:30am to be exact. Drew fell back to sleep with Rick in the recliner and Taylor fell back to sleep in our bed with me till 6:00 so it really wasn’t that bad. Then off went Eric, Jana, Taylor and Drew till Sunday. I had to work and Rick was busy shingleing. Thank goodness we have such great family to help us out when we need it. Check out http://spanierfamily.blogspot.com/ to see the fun Drew had there.

Drew is now 18 months old. I really don’t know where all that time went. The first year is a complete blur. His 18 month doctors appt went well. He did have to get one shot which I didn’t know he was getting. Even though it was only one it was the worst one yet!! He is 34” tall (91%) and weighs 30 lbs (90%).
